Promo Mechanics

1)     PROMO TITLE: MONTEREY “MY TRUSTY RECIPE” PROMO
 
2)     BRIEF DESCRIPTION
 
This promo is open to all Filipino men and women aged eighteen (18) years or above. The 3 grand winners of this promo will each receive a Monterey Fresh Rewards card pre-loaded with ten thousand (10,000) Pesos which may be used to purchase Monterey Meat products. The 3 grand winners will likewise get their recipes featured in the Feb 2016 issue of Food magazine. (For complete details on prizes, please see Section 13).
 
To enter, participants must send to FOOD Magazine’s Facebook page their most trusty meat recipe that can be cooked with Monterey beef or pork, along with a photo of the finished product and a receipt showing that the participant had purchased at least one (1) kilogram beef or pork product from Monterey from Dec 1, 2015 to Dec 31, 2015. The participant must also submit personal information as stated in the promo mechanics.

6)     PRODUCTS COVERED:
  1. At least one (1) kg. of any cut of the following:
    1. Monterey Pork
    2. Monterey Beef
  2. The one kilogram (1kg) can also be a combination of beef and pork (ex. 0.5 kg of pork + 0.5 kg of beef).
 
7)     WHO CAN JOIN
  1. The promotion is open to all Filipino men and women aged 18 or above, actually residing in the Philippines.
  2. The participant must purchase at least one kilogram (1kg) of Monterey beef cuts or pork cuts, or a combination thereof, starting Dec 1, 2015 to Dec 31, 2015. Product must be purchased at any Monterey Meatshop Plus branch in the Philippines.
 
8)     HOW TO JOIN
  1. The participant must purchase at least one kilogram (1kg) of Monterey beef or pork cuts, or a combination thereof, starting Dec. 1, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2015 at any Monterey Meatshop Plus branch nationwide and obtain a valid receipt as proof of purchase. Product must be purchased in the Philippines only.
  2. The participant must send the following via private message to the Facebook page of “FOOD Magazine”:
    1. A Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx) with the following:
      1. Full Name :
      2. Date of Birth :
      3. Email Address :
      4. Contact Number :
      5. Complete Home Address :
      6. Receipt/Sales Invoice Number :
      7. Title of trusty recipe:
      8. Serving size of recipe (Good for <how many> persons)
      9. Ingredients and process for the trusty recipe
      10. I represent and warrant that I have read, understood and agreed to abide by the complete rules and regulations of this promo.
      11. File name of the .doc or .docx file must be: “<NAME OF PARTICIPANT>_Monterey My Trusty Recipe”
    2. Participant must agree to the terms and conditions of the promo mechanics and state in the .doc or .docx file the following “I represent and warrant that I have read, understood and agreed to abide by the complete rules and regulations of this promo.”
    3. Participant must send a photo (via Facebook private message) featuring the prepared dish using her/his trusty recipe
      1. Photos must be a clear 800-KB to 2-MB-sized image in JPEG format, taken in portrait or landscape orientation; and
      2. Manipulated or heavily edited photos will be considered invalid.’
      3. The photo must feature the prepared dish only
    4. Participant must send a photo (via Facebook private message) or a scanned copy of an official receipt indicating purchase of at least one (1) of the covered products.
      1. The photo or scanned copy of the receipt must be a clear 800-KB to 2-MB sized image of the purchase receipt in JPEG format.
      2. The purchase of at least one (1) kg worth of at least one (1) of the covered products and the receipt number (sales invoice number) must be plainly visible in the uploaded photo of the purchase receipt in order to be valid.
      3. A receipt number (sales invoice number) can only be used for one (1) valid entry. If participant’s entry is invalid, he/she may use the same receipt to retry submitting.
  3. Upon sending a valid entry, the participant shall receive a private message on Facebook from Food magazine within one-hundred-twenty (120) hours from time of submission, to confirm that the entry is valid. Invalid entries will receive a Facebook private message informing the participant that the entry submitted was invalid and the reason for the invalidation of the submitted entry.
  4. A participant can only submit one (1) entry per valid receipt. The participant can submit multiple entries as long as the receipt number (sales invoice number) has not already been submitted for another entry.
  5. Each participant can win a grand prize only once.
 
9)    DEADLINE FOR THE SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES: Dec. 31, 2015, 11:59 PM.
 
10)  DISQUALIFICATIONS
  1. The following photo entries shall be disqualified:
    1. Photos which feature a dish that does not match the submitted recipe
    2. Photos that include dishes other than the dish that matches the submitted recipe
    3. Photos with file size below 800-KB or above 2-MB;
    4. Inappropriate/offensive photos (such as but not limited to nudity, graphic violence, bullying, spam); and
    5. Manipulated or heavily-edited photos as evaluated by an Art Director from ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc.
  2. Entries which are submitted beyond the deadline for submission, which is on December 31, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. based on ABS-CBN PUBLISHING, INC.’s official time, shall be disqualified.
  3. Recipes that do not include Monterey beef or pork as an ingredient
  4. Entries which do not have the complete contact information below shall be disqualified:
    1. Full Name
    2. Date of Birth
    3. Email Address
    4. Contact Number
    5. Complete Home Address
    6. Receipt/Sales Invoice Number
    7. Title of Trusty Recipe
    8. Serving Size of Trusty Recipe
  5. Entries that do not include the participant’s written agreement to the terms and conditions of the promo mechanics.
  6. Entries that do not include a clear photo of the purchase receipt shall be disqualified. The purchase of at least one kilogram (1kg) of any of the covered products, and the receipt number (sales invoice number) must be plainly visible.
  7. A receipt/sales invoice number can only be used for one (1) entry. The entry will be disqualified if the receipt/sales invoice number used has already been declared and found in the system. The receipt/sales invoice number indicated in the Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx) must match the receipt/sales invoice number in the sent photo of the receipt/sales invoice.
  8. Entries that do not have an attached Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx) of the participant’s trusty recipe
  9. Employees, contractuals, talents, and their relatives up to the second degree of affinity or consanguinity of the following are disqualified from joining the contest:
    1. ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. and its affiliates;
    2. Monterey and all its affiliates and subsidiaries;
    3. Persons reporting regularly to the promoter, sponsor or advertiser under a contract of service and who, by the nature of the service they render may have a direct and personal knowledge of this promotion are likewise disqualified;
 
11)  DETERMINATION OF WINNERS
  1. ABS-CBN Publishing Inc. representatives shall collate all entries and determine the validity and qualification of each entry every 5:00 pm Tuesday and Thursday (working days only) starting December 1, 2015 until the day following the last day of submission of entries on December 31, 2015.
  2. On January 5, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m, the judges will choose eight (8) entries from all the entries submitted based on the criteria provided in Section 12 at ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. office, 8F Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center, Mother Ignacia South Triangle, Quezon City (Venue for brand and editorial juding).
  3. On January 7, 2016, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, an ABS-CBN designated Recipe Tester will prepare the dishes of the top eight (8) trusty recipes at The Green Room, ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. office, 8F Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center, Mother Ignacia South Triangle, Quezon City. The judges for the promo will taste and judge the eight (8) dishes prepared from the top eight (8) recipes and select the three (3) recipes which shall be declared as the winners who will be featured in the February 2016 issue of Food magazine and win a Monterey Fresh Rewards card pre-loaded with Php10,000 which may be used to purchase Monterey Products at Monterey Meatshop Plus branches.
 
12)  JUDGES AND THE CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
  1. The following are the judges for the promo:
    1. Food Magazine (API): Nana Ozaeta (EIC, Food Magazine), Troy Barrios (Managing Editor, Food Magazine), and Cecilia Esperanza (Nutritionist & Recipe Tester, Food Magazine)
    2. Monterey: Chef Llena Arcenas (Monterey Chef), Jake Lugay (Marketing Manager, Monterey)
  2. Criteria for Judging
    1. The entries will be judged in accordance with the following criteria for determining the top eight (8) recipes that will move on to the kitchen and taste-testing. Judging to be held on January 5, 2016 at ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. office, 8F Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center, Mother Ignacia South Triangle, Quezon City:
      1. Forty-percent (40%) Presentation
        • Overall appearance and effect of submitted photo (Must look appetizing)
        • Plating and presentation of dish
      2. Forty-percent (40%) Usage of Monterey product
        • Monterey product is highlighted as a major ingredient of the dish
      3. Twenty-percent (20%) Originality
        • Recipe is creative, new, and unique
    2. The entries will be judged in accordance with the following criteria for determining the three (3) winning recipes. Judging and kitchen and taste-testing to be held on January 7, 2016 at The Green Room, ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. office, 8F Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center, Mother Ignacia South Triangle, Quezon City:
      1. Forty-percent (40%) Texture/Mouth-feel
      2. Sixty-percent (60%) Taste
    3. Each participant will be graded from lowest of zero (0) to highest depending on the assigned percentage per criterion.
    4. Participants will be ranked accordingly based on the average of their total scores from all of the judges.

14)  NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS AND CLAIMING OF PRIZES
  1. The three (3) winners shall be notified on January 8, 2015, 2:00 p.m. via SMS or phone and Facebook private message saying that their entries have been chosen and that their prize may already be claimed. They shall also be notified of the Monterey Meatshop Plus branch closest to them based on the information provided, where their prize will be available for pick-up.
  2. The Monterey Fresh Rewards card pre-loaded with Ten Thousand Pesos (Php10,000)  per winner will be made available for pick-up at their closest Monterey Meatshop Plus by January 8, 2016, 2:00 p.m.
  3. The winners must present the following to the authorized Monterey Meatshop Plus representative when claiming the prize within sixty (60) days from the date of announcement or notification or receipt of Facebook private message, whichever comes last, at the winner’s designated Monterey Meatshop Plus:
    1. A printout of the text or Facebook private message of notification
    2. Two (2) valid, government-issued IDs.
    3. Photocopies of the two (2) valid, government-issued IDs
  4. If the winner is not present or available to claim the prize, an authorized representative may claim the prize on his/her behalf during the claiming period with a printout or screen shot of the text or Facebook private message of notification, a valid, government-issued ID, a letter of authority or Special Power of Attorney (“SPA”), and photocopies of two (2) valid, government-issued IDs of the winner.
  5. In failing to claim his/her prize within the sixty (60)-day period, the participant shall be deemed to have forfeited his/her prize. The three (3) winning recipes will be featured in Food magazine’s February 2016 issue regardless of whether the participant claims his/her prizes or not.
  6. The winners shall solely bear all costs and expenses relating to, arising from or connected with, the claiming of the prizes, including, but not limited to, transportation, meals, beverages, incidental charges and gratuities.
  7. Prizes are non-transferable and non-convertible to cash.
  8. The winners authorize ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. and Monterey to disclose and publish their names, photos and other particulars determined by ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. and Monterey to any person/s and in any mode or manner as ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. and Monterey may deem appropriate.
15)  CONTROL MEASURES
  1. The presence of an authorized NMIS representative shall be required for the following:
    1. View and approve the Facebook account for receiving entries on Nov 23, 2015; Venue will be at the ABS-CBN Digital Media Division Office at 8th Floor ELJ Communications Center, Eugenio Lopez Drive corner Mother Ignacia Avenue, South Triangle, Quezon City (venue for system and entries);
    2. Witness the determination of the top (8) entries to move on to the kitchen and taste-testing round on January 5, 2015, 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m.; Venue will be at ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. office, 8F Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center, Mother Ignacia South Triangle, Quezon City. (Venue for brand and editorial juding)
    3. Witness the determination of the three (3) winners on January 7, 2015, 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m.; Venue will be The Green Room, ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. office, 8F Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center, Mother Ignacia South Triangle, Quezon City . (Venue for brand and editorial juding)
  2. The database shall contain the following information:

    10. Participant's representation and warranty that he/she has read, understood and agreed to abide by the complete rules and regulations of this promo.
    11. Photo of receipt of purchase
      1. In the photo of receipt of purchase, the total amount, list of items purchased, and the receipt number  (sales invoice number) must be visible.
  3. Those that do not comply with the required elements will be removed from the database.
  4. There will be one administrative (“Admin”) person from ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. who will monitor the Facebook account that receives all photo entries: www.facebook.com/foodmag. The Admin is also given the task to monitor the encoding of entries into the database (solely for the summarization of entries) every 5:00 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays (working days only) starting December 1, 2015 until the day following the last day of submission of entries on December 31, 2015.
  5. After compiling the entries sent during the day, the Admin shall send a soft file/screenshot of the summary of entries in the database to Monterey for update.
 
17. TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
  1. Participants represent and warrant that they have read, understood and agreed to abide by the complete rules and regulations.
  2. Participants will retain copyright and ownership of their entries. However by submitting their photos, participants hereby agree to grant ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc., Monterey, and their affiliates, an exclusive, royalty-free license to use the same within December 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015, with the exception of the three (3) winners, who shall grant an extension of until December 31, 2016.
  3. The participants retain the right to publish their photos and recipes on their websites, blogs, but not to enter them in any other contest for the period of December 1, 2015 – December 31, 2015,with the exception of the three (3) winners, who shall grant an extension of until December 31, 2016, or use them in any way that defames or damages ABS-CBN Publishing Inc., Monterey, and their affiliates.
  4. The participants warrant that they are the sole author and owner of the material (photo and recipe), copyright thereon and of all rights therein; that there exists no adverse claim to or in the work; that neither the recipe nor any part thereof is a copy of any other work; that neither the work nor any part thereof infringes upon the copyright or any other rights of any person, firm or corporation anywhere in the world. The participants shall hold API free from any liabilities from third persons for violations of these warranties.
  5. ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc., and its affiliates reserve the right to block, remove, or disqualify communications or materials that it determines to be (a) abusive, defamatory, or obscene, (b) fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading, (c) in violation of a copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right of another or (d) violates any law or regulation or (e) offensive or otherwise unacceptable to ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. and its affiliates at their sole discretion.
  6. ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc., and its affiliates disclaims any liability for failure to receive or acknowledge entries arising from force majeure, including acts of God, fires, floods, wars or other disturbances, labor unrest, or other causes beyond its control.
  7. ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc., and its affiliates, Monterey and its subsidiaries and affiliates, shall be free from responsibility in case of injury, accident or death by bearer of the prizes.
  8. ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc., and its affiliates, Monterey and its subsidiaries and affiliates, reserve the right to amend the rules and revise the mechanics with NMIS’s approval.
